We are a young entrepreneurial startup founded by the top-notch management and technical team that brought Internet and telecommunications (specifically FTTx services) development in Bhutan. Consisting of 11 employees in total currently and growing, the founders -- the core of us have grown through being the most competent Telecom Engineers, Web Applications Developers, Network Engineers, System Admins, Managers for Network and System Administration, and Management at DrukNet (ISP & Enterprise IT Services) of Bhutan Telecom. We built and grew DrukNet along with which we built our own capabilities. Our pride and core competency reside in the strong core team composition that has 15+ years of experience in the Internet/telecommunications industry in each of us.
He is the Managing Director of NANO. He was part of the first team to have played catalytic roles in the introduction and development of Internet in Bhutan. Before founding NANO, he was the first person to head the newly created Technology Strategy (with the roles to that of a CTO) & Business Development (with the roles to that of a Chief Business Officer) Division in Bhutan Telecom. Prior to that, as the General Manager, he headed DrukNet - Internet Services and Enterprise IT Services of Bhutan Telecom from 2008-2014. He started his career in DrukNet as the Webmaster, and then moved on to become Network and Systems Engineer, Administrator and Manager. He served as the 2nd Chairman of South Asian Network Operators Group (SANOG) until early 2016. He is still the Core Committee member of SANOG. He held positions of other recognition such as: Director of Thimphu TechPark Ltd. – Bhutan’s 1st IT Park, Chairman & IT Lead of IT CXO Group, Druk Holding & Investments – commercial arm of Bhutan’s government comprising of Bhutan’s largest corporations, and Administrative & Technical Contact for Bhutan's ccTLD (.BT).
He holds Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand and Bachelor of Engineering in Telecommunications from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia.
He is the Chief Technology Officer of NANO who worked about 17 years in DrukNet (the Internet & IT Services of Bhutan Telecom) and grew to become the top-notch technical manager and engineer, and highest technical escalation point in Internet and IT Services and operations. His last positions in Bhutan Telecom were Sr. Manager of Internet & IT and before that the 1st Manager of (Cyber) Security Services.
He has Bachelor in Computer Application from Eastern Institute for Integrated Learning in Management (EIILM), India and Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Royal Bhutan Polytechnic, Bhutan.
He is the Chief Operating Officer of NANO and was instrumental for 20+ years in the development of telecommunications (especially fiber networks) in Bhutan having started his career in Bhutan Telecom in 1991. He was the First Manager to be involved directly in the deployment and operation of Fiber (FTTx) networks and services in the country for Bhutan Telecom. His last role in Bhutan Telecom was the Sr. Manager for Backbone & Access (FTTx) Networks Design & Operations, and prior to that he was manading Bhutan Telecom's nationwide backbone fiber connectivity.
He holds Bachelor of Technology in Electronics & Communications from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee, India and Diploma in Electrical Engineering from Royal Bhutan Polytechnic, Bhutan.
Before assuming the roles of a General Manager in NANO, he was the senior-most Engineer operating and managing the Internet’s core networks and IT infrastructures of DrukNet, Bhutan Telecom.
He has Diploma in Electrical Engineering from Royal Bhutan Polytechnic, Royal Bhutan Institute of Technology (RBIT), Bhutan.
